Can you believe it? Only 13 days until Lil’ G’s first birthday!! Also, guess what else? Yesterday some guy, who happens to be the Canadian element Sergeant Major, crashed his bike riding into work. He was trying to avoid traffic, which was his first mistake. Motorcycle and scooter drivers here try to HIT traffic. Anyway, he hit a rut or something and lost it.
They took him to the Italian hospital that was close by. They released him and told him he just had a dislocated shoulder and one broken rib. Why does this matter? Well, because when he leaves this summer then Jack will be the SGM, so he is acting SGM now until the guy gets back to work. Still not a big deal. But, next week he is supposed to go to Germany and sit on the merit board – from the 14th to whenever! Oh Hells No!! I told Jack if he went he might end up with more than a broken rib….besides if it’s only a broken rib and the guy is just sitting at a table discussing things he can still go, right? It’s not like it’s a field training exercise.
Being wise, though, the guy’s wife took him to the Support Site to see the American doctors and to get some good drugs. They looked him over and what he really had was a dislocated shoulder, a broken arm, and two broken ribs! Quite a difference! So now, I don’t know, that is a whole different story.
How sad will it be if Jack has to miss Lil’ G’s first birthday, though????
